After missing the Asia Cup 2012 due to a back injury, flamboyant Indian opener Virender Sehwag today said that he has recovered fully and ready to lead the Delhi Daredevils (DDR) side in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL). ‘I have recovered fully from the injury. I will start practice before the IPL starts. The rest period prescribed by the physio is over,’ the dashing batter said during the launch of DDR’s Hindi website here. The 33-year-old Sehwag was rested from the Asia Cup squad after the tiring three-month tour of Australia alongwith bowling spearhead Zaheer Khan and pacer Umesh Yadav. Defending India’s recent debacle Down Under, Sehwag admitted that the side went through a bad patch but would bounce back. ‘We din’t play upto our potential in England and Australia. Every team goes through that bad patch. Even England lost 0-3 to Pakistan in the UAE,’ he said. Sehwag also praised the performance of the Bangladesh team in the ongoing Asia Cup in Dhaka which forced India out of the four-nation tournament after the home side beat both Sri Lanka and India to set up the title clash against Pakistan tomorrow at the Sher-e-Bangla stadium. ‘Bangladesh played really good cricket. They have proved that on their day they can beat any top side,’ he said.
