Union Minister of State for Tourism Chiranjeevi has said that he has come into politics only to serve the people. He said he was trying to fulfill the duties assigned to him by the people.
The former actor has said that the UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi always thinks about the welfare of the poor and makes the government formulate schemes towards this end. Chiranjeevi said FDIs would benefit the farmers. He also lamented that those who drew benefits from Sonia Gandhi were trying to destabilize the Congress governments.
Stating that there was no dearth for young leadership in the Congress party, he said Rahul Gandhi was ably leading the nation.
Referring to the criticism that it would have been better if he had not merged his party in the Congress, Chiranjeevi has said he had merged it, honoring the people’s verdict. He urged the government to give importance to workers from the bottom level in party and government positions. He said through FDIs the nation would be benefited. He said the government was implementing progressive measures like input subsidy.
He alleged that the TDP was adopting a dual stand on the FDIs. Without naming Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, he said one person, who built an empire with ill-gotten wealth, was running politics from the jail.
