I am open to suggestions from Sourav, says Binny

Mumbai, July 14: Newly-appointed Bengal coach Roger Binny is open to suggestions from those who have the best interests of the players and the sport in mind. The World Cup-winning seamer told DNA on Monday: “Bengal are a very good side and they only need direction…And I am here to do that. I am open to taking suggestions from Mohinder Amarnath or Sourav Ganguly… anybody whose suggestions will help the team perform better is welcome.”

It maybe recalled that Amarnath was the batting consultant to the Bengal side during the last season when they reclaimed their place in the Elite group of the Ranji Trophy.
On how he wants to help the Bengal seamers Ranadeb Bose, Ashok Dinda and Sourav Sarkar, Binny said: “I haven’t seen them in the longer versions…Obviously, they have talent and my job will be to guide them in the right direction,” Binny added.

Binny, who has just been relieved from his Asian Cricket Council (ACC) duties, admitted that he hasn’t seen Bengal players from close quarters apart from a few tournaments. “I have seen them only in the Diamond Jubilee tournament in Bangalore and few Ranji Trophy matches on television. But they are all talented players.”
