Hyderabad, October 28: With DS elected to Legislative Council, speculations rife over Cheif Minister change in coming days. Though PCC president Botsa denied any such idea, political circles feel that DS name is acceptable to majority of the leaders across the state, if high command decides to replace KKR with a candidate from Telangana.
However, Mr Srinivas said that he is not CM race. Responding to a query, DS said, the Chief Minister, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy, is working very well and there is no need to replace him.
Stating that he would not change his stand on the Telangana issue, newly-elected Congress MLC and former PCC Chief D Srinivas has appealed to the people of Telangana and Seemandhra regions to get separated in a friendly manner with love and affection.
Speaking to the media after taking oath as MLC at in the Legislative Council, Mr Srinivas said that he was in favor of separate Telangana when he was PCC president twice and would not change his stand. He also said that his approach was different from others on the separate State issue.
Stating that his selection as MLC at this juncture was only to find a solution to Telangana issue, Mr Srinivas said that his election was not special and was part of normal practice. He reiterated that he was one among those who were demanding separate Telangana state.
Thanking the AICC Chief, Ms Sonia Gandhi, for selecting him for MLC seat, he said that he would strive to help strengthen leadership of Ms Sonia Gandhi and party image. He would work as a party soldier and would strive to enhance the image of the Legislative Council, he added.
