Madikeri, April 06: Karnataka Governor H R Bhardwaj today said he was not against the BJP government led by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa but had only spoken out against its “corrupt practices” and performed his duty.
Bhardwaj, who along with his family is on a two-day visit to the coffee district of Kodagu, told reporters, “I do not oppose the Government. I had only remarked against the corrupt practices and had done my job as a Governor and to protect the interest of the people.
“Now all is going on in a smooth manner”, he smiled.
Bhardwaj, who visited the Dubare Elephant Camp yesterday, said, “I want a non-corrupt administrative structure to be built in Karnataka and whenever needed I shall give suggestions to the Government to correct the mistakes”.
After enjoying a boat ride at the Dubare camp, he interacted with the mahuts and tribals who presented a memorandum listing their demands.
Bhardwaj later left for Bangalore.
