Senior IAS officer BP Acharya, accused in the Emaar Properties scam, has claimed that he was totally innocent and was made a scapegoat, while the actual criminals were moving about freely. He said soon the names of these people would come out.
Talking to the media here on Wednesday, he has expressed confidence that facts would ultimately come out and he would be able to prove his innocence. He has said that the agreement between Emaar Properties with Stylish Homes was made before he took over as APIIC MD. He also said that the APIIC share was not reduced even now and no loss was caused as alleged in the CBI charge-sheet. He has also said that in his total service, he had never received any bribe. He has alleged that he was wantonly implicated in the case and asserted that he would fight for justice in the court. He has expressed confidence that he would get justice in the court.
Acharya has surrendered in the court as the High court has cancelled the bail given to him by the CBI court on Tuesday. (NSS)
