HYDERABAD: While a large section of people expressed joy at the news of the alleged ”encounter” of the four accused in the gang-rape and murder case of a female veterinarian, there are also some who questioned the encounter.
AIMIM chief and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi is among those who raised objection on the encounter by the Hyderabad police, in which four accused were shot dead.
Speaking to ANI news agency, the Hyderabad MP said, “I am against encounters. Even, National Human Rights Commission has taken cognizance of the encounter.”
Owaisi also raised concern asking why police took such stern action of killing the alleged rapist and murderers in custody.
A week after the brutal gang rape and murder of a young veterinarian in Hyderabad, police shot dead all the four accused in an alleged ‘encounter’.
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Friday took suo motu cognisance of the alleged ‘encounter’, based on media reports.
The news of the police gunning down the accused shocked their families, who questioned the police action of gunning them down in an ‘encounter’ even before a trial.
