New Delhi: Sixth-generation Hyundai Car i.e Hyundai Elantra, is all set to be launched in India in August 2016. The bookings for the upcoming sedan has already started with a payment of around Rs 25,000. However, there is no official word from the Korean automaker regarding the bookings.
Elantra’s deliveries are expected to commence soon after its official launch. If you take the previous Elantra into consideration, the sixth-generation model has taken a quantum leap in almost every aspect. It is based on a brand-new lightweight platform, and comes with new engines, along with feature additions. Moreover, the 2016 model is based on Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, while the previous model was based on the first iteration of this design language.
The 2016 Elantra will compete primarily with the Toyota Corolla Altis – the highest-selling vehicle in this segment. Other rivals include the Skoda Octavia, the Volkswagen Jetta and the Chevrolet Cruze. Moreover, Honda is also expected to introduce the tenth-generation Civic – which might become one of the 2016 elantra’s chief competitors – in India next year. In terms of pricing, expect the new Elantra to start in the vicinity of Rs 15 lakh, like its predecessor.
