Hype over Jagan’s arrest, Cong Leaders claims helped YSRC:TDP

Telugu Desam Party (TDP) today said that the hype over the arrest of Kadapa MP Jaganmohan in illegal assets case generated sympathy wave among the public and led to YSRC’s victory in the by-elections. Talking to news persons after attending party’s politburo meeting convened to discuss on the outcome of the just-ended by-elections in the state, TDP Politburo member Yanamala Ramakrishnudu said “we succeeded in exposing the corrupt deeds of the Congress Government as well as Jagan.” Sympathy over the arrest of YSR Congress party Chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, son of former Chief Minister Y S Rajashekara Reddy, claims of AICC General Secretary Ghulam Azad and statements of Union Minister Vayalar Ravi in the public during the by-poll campaign helped YSRC win 15 Assembly seats out of 18 seats in the by-elections, he pointed out.

“We will take necessary political decisions only after conducting review of the results in detail 18,” he added. In the recent by-polls, the TDP has drawn a complete blank in the to 18 Assemblies seats while the ruling Congress party party has secured only two seats. UNI
