Hyderabad’s grandest wedding ever

Hyderabad, June 10: When Andhra’s two top infrastructure giants cement their bond through marriage on June 11, the stage could well be set for Hyderabad’s grandest wedding ever.

The impending nuptials between GVK Group’s G V Krishna Reddy’s granddaughter Mallika and the son of Indu Group’s Indukuri Syam Prasad Reddy, I Sidharth, has been the talk of the town for quite some time now.

The buzz started when some 5,000 invitation cards, each worth Rs 5,000, with an exquisitely carved image of Lord Venkateshwara, were sent out with a box of sweets through special couriers.

On the cards is a Bharatnatyam performance by Hema Malini at the mehendi and sangeet ceremony. Then, chartered jets will ferry guests that include Bollywood A-listers like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aishwarya Rai and Katrina Kaif.

A host of Telugu filmstars, directors and producers, corporate India’s Mukesh Ambani, ministers, MPs, chief ministers of several states and political leaders will also be present.

To accomodate guests both the families have hired the Shamshabad Airport Arena, five-star Novotel Hotel and Hyderabad International Convention Centre

Some high-profile guests are being put up at the Taj Falaknuma Palace. The presidential suite’s tariff there is Rs 5 lakh per day.

The mehendi and sangeet ceremony is being hosted by Congress MP Dr T Subbarami Reddy, the bride’s maternal grandfather.

While Hema Malini arrived on Thursday, Bollywood stars are expected to start arriving on Friday evening.
