Hyderabad:Important Traffic diversions advisory issued as PM, Gandhi visit city

Hyderabad: PM Modi and Congress Chief Gandhi’s visit to Hyderabad today has created massive traffic restrictions for city commuters. PM will be in the city to address a massive public meeting at the LB stadium as Telangana state is scheduled to go on polls this December 7.

Commuters are thereby advised to avoid taking routes where the scheduled events will be taking place as well as bear traffic restrictions from 2 pm to 10 pm in city limits.

Hyderabad city commissioner Anjani Kumar has confirmed the same and issued an advisory for commuters: “At AR Petrol Pump Junction, traffic will not be allowed towards BJR Statue and will be diverted towards Nampally or Ravindra Bharati. Traffic coming from Abids and Gunfoundry side will not be allowed towards BJR Statue and it will be diverted at SBI Gunfoundry towards Chapel road. Traffic coming from Basheerbagh Junction and going towards GPO and Abids will be diverted at towards Hyderguda and King Koti road.”

“Traffic coming from Old MLA quarters towards Basheerbagh will be diverted at old MLA Quarters towards Himayatnagar Y Junction. Traffic coming from Rajmohalla road towards old MLA Quarters will be diverted at Cemetery Junction towards King Koti or YMCA Narayanguda. Traffic coming from King Koti to Basheerbagh via Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan will be diverted towards Tajmahal and Cemetery. Traffic coming from Liberty towards Basheerbagh Junction will be diverted towards Himayatnagar,” it added.

Any traffic coming from Hill Fort will be diverted at old PCR junction and will not be allowed to go towards Basheerbagh the police said.

“All citizens are requested to take alternate routes to reach their destinations and to avoid the above routes during the specified timings and cooperate with the Traffic Police. Further citizens are requested to use Metro rail to reach their destination,” the advisory clearly stated.

Another traffic advisory has also been issued since Congress Chief Gandhi would be arriving at Begumpet Airport at 4 pm which may further add to the already imposed restrictions.

Congress Chief will be addressing a road show and is scheduled to proceed to Sri Ram Nagar X Roads in Jubilee Hills constituency.

He will then travel to Kukatpally where he is awaited for another meeting and shall departure around 7 pm from the Hyderabad.
