Cyberabad Police have arrested Salman Mohiuddin 32 years Son of Ahmed Mohiuddin resident of Bazarghat,an Engineering Graduate and US returnee when he was on his way to Dubai and then from there to Syria via Turkey to join Islamic State (ISIS). During his stay in US, he came in touch with one lady by name Nicky Joseph @ Nicky @ Nicole @ Ayesha, a British national and a neo Muslim based in Dubai who had a fundamentalist leaning towards Islam.
In 2014, after the establishment of Caliphate in Iraq and Syria, Salman and Nicky started taking interest in the development activities of Islamic State. They created various facebook groups under pseudo name and started attracting people who were interested in ISIS.
In the last week of October, when he was denied a Visa by US authorities he returned to India and continued his activities. During his stay, through the social media, he tried to attract local youth across the country with an intention of taking them to Syria & Iraq.
Further, he intended to undergo training in Syria and after returning wanted to indulge in anti-national activities in the country.
He has been arrested by Shamshabad Police vide Cr.No.17/2015 u/s UA(P)A Act and IT Act. From his custody, various electronic gadgets have been recovered.
