Hyderabad, February 13: A Hyderabadi wanted by Interpol was arrested by the city police in connection with a attempt to murder case in Canberra, Australia.
The arrested man was identified as Khaled Bin Abdul Rahman alias Amen Khalit, a resident of Tadban, Kalapattar, against whom a red corner notice is issued. In 2006 Khalid went to Australia for pursuing studies and joined Bridge Business College (Diplome in Human Resources).
On January 3 in 2011, Khaled had tried to kill his wife, Ms Ramila Lamichhant, by hitting her with an iron rod suspecting her fidelity and escaped on the same night from Australia to Hyderabad. He could face upto 25 years in prison as per Australian laws.
After attack Khalid fled to Hyderabad and was staying at his residence in Kalapather. On recieving information from Interpol, sleuths of Special Branch picked up Khalid and handed over to the Kalapather Police. ” We have alerted Interpol about the arrest of Khalid” an official of Special Branch told.
