Hyderabadi girl’s gruesome murder details revealed

Washington: The horrific murder of a 19-year-old second-year Honours student studying at the University of Illinois in Chicago revealed the victim was ignoring the man’s catcalls which angered him.

According to the prosecutors, the accused Donald Thurman, 26, had grabbed George from behind, around the neck and put her in a chokehold until she was unconscious, Hans reports.

The gruesome murder details have only emerged during a bail hearing of Thurman after he confessed to his crime.

Cook County prosecutor James Murphy said the accused became angry when she did not respond to his calls while walking from the campus to the parking garage early Saturday.

The accused Thurman followed George to the garage, wanting to talk to her as “thought she was pretty”. He attacked her from behind until she fell unconscious and later dragged her to the back seat of her car and sexually assaulted her, leaving her on the car seat before fleeing the crime scene.

The accused following the George was also captured in the surveillance camera’s said the prosecutor.

Hearing the case, Judge Charles Beach II ordered that the accused remains in custody without bail.

Last year, Thurman was released on parole after he served two years of his punishment for a 2015 robbery case.

Meanwhile, the deceased girl’s family said they hold no hatred towards the perpetrator.

“But our hope is no other girl would be harmed in this way and for a mother to never experience this type of heartache. Ruth lived out her deep faith in Jesus by loving and serving others, leaving a legacy of Christ-centered kindness and sacrifice,” the statement read.

“She was the beloved baby of our family,” the statement said.

George was studying kinesiology (the study of physiological, biomechanical and psychological dynamic principles and mechanisms of movement) with plans to become a physical therapist, according to officials at her university. George’s family had migrated to the US around 30-years ago.
