Hyderabad: Two young giraffes, a male and female are being shifted from Kolkata’s Alipore Zoo to Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad. They have started 1500 km journey on Monday and will reach Hyderabad on Friday.
According to the Times of India, officials at Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad are making all necessary arrangements at the zoo to make the giraffes feel at home when they arrive. Their enclosures are undergoing some final repair works.
Two 14-ft tall crates are carrying the animals. Male giraffe which is three and a half year old is about 13 ft tall, while the female giraffe which is two and a half year old is 12 ft tall.
