Hyderabad: Syed Yousuf (30), a resident of Salala Barkas in the city has reportedly gone missing in Malaysia. The High Commission of India in Malaysia has begun efforts to trace him.
As reported by TOI, Yousuf last spoke to his family on October 23 and has reportedly gone missing since then in Kuala Lumpur. He was promised a job in Kuala Lumpur by a travel agent and was asked to pay Rs 75,000, family members said.
His family in a letter to external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, disclosed that Yousuf was taken on a visit visa instead of a job visa on July 6. He was then asked to work in a mobile shop there. Though he was in touch with the family in Hyderabad everyday on phone. Nothing has been heard about him since his last call on October 23.
Yousuf’s mother Banu Begum pleaded Sushma Swaraj to ensure safe return of her son to Hyderabad. MBT leader Amjed Ullah Khan also wrote to Sushma Swaraj on the issue.
