Hyderabad: Woman lands in jail for killing mother-in-law

Hyderabad: In yet another incident of crime, a daughter-in-law killed her mother-in-law by strangling her throat. This crime took place in the area which falls under the jurisdiction of Chandrayangutta Police Station.

According to the report of Mr. M.A. Rasheed, ACP of Falaknuma, the dead body of the 60-year-old Khairan Begum was found in suspicious condition on 30th March 2019 at her residence located at Hashimabad, Bandlaguda. The relatives of the deceased were making arrangements for her burial. However, police reached the spot and sent her body to Osmania General Hospital for postmortem.

The report of the postmortem revealed that Khairan Begum had deep wound marks on her head and she was killed after strangling her throat.

On receipt of postmortem report, police arrested the son of the deceased, Chand Pasha (48) and his wife Kauser Begum (46). During the investigation, both confessed the crime.

Giving the details, Mr. Rasheed told that Kauser Begum was very hefty due to which she was not able to attend to household work properly. On account of this, her mother-in-law used to criticize her quite often. On 3rd March, Kauser Begum hit the head of her mother-in-law against the wall and later, she strangled her throat with the help of a sari. When the woman died, Chand Pasha and Kauser Begum made an attempt to destroy the evidence but due to the postmortem report and police complaint, they landed in jail.
