Hyderabad witnessed incident-free New Year celebration: CP

the New Year Celebrations throughout the city of Hyderabad have passed off incident free, while the citizens participated in large numbers in various Celebrations/Events, bidding farewell to 2016 and welcoming 2017, said Hyderabad Police Commissioner M. Mahender Reddy.

The Commissioner said it was heartening to note that the youth of Hyderabad City have exhibited a very high standard of maturity in conducting themselves with great responsibility, while moving on the streets/participating in the events showing great concern to the safety, security and convenience of fellow citizens.

The entire 15,000 strong police force of Hyderabad City Police supported by the RAF and Telangana State Special Police had been deployed throughout the night.  As many as 100 SHE Teams had been sprawling in the city throughout the night taking care of women safety.   Another 50 teams of Traffic Police were involved in “drunk and drive checking” in order to ensure accident free celebrations. In all about 927 cases of “Drunk and Drive” have been booked during this night. Armed Interceptor Teams have been deployed in all sensitive areas in Hyderabad City to prevent any incidents of violence. The entire credit for incident free New Year Celebrations goes to the People of Hyderabad City.
