Hyderabad Will Be Beautiful Only When Old City Given Face-Lift

Hyderabad, February 02: The Chief Minister, Mr Nallari Kiran Kumar Reddy, on Wednesday observed that the capital city of Hyderabad will look really beautiful only when the Old City was beautified.

Participating in Rachchabanda programme, Mr Kiran Kumar Reddy interacted with locals in Hafiz Baba Nagar under Chandrayangutta Assembly constituency and elicited their problems. Later, he sanctioned Rs 4.5 crores under various welfare schemes in a public meeting conducted in Barkas grounds. He also distributed Pavala Vaddi loans and cooking gas connections to women under Deepam scheme. Distributing tri-cycles and pensions to physically handicapped, the Chief Minister appealed to the beneficiaries to obtain Smart Cards.

Addressing the gathering, Mr Reddy said that the CBI investigation into Mecca Masjid blasts revealed that it was the handiwork of the Hindu fundamentalists, who concocted a story that Muslims were behind the blast in order to create unrest in the capital city.

The State government, which feared disturbances in the Rachchabanda programme in other parts of Hyderabad district, has chosen the Old City as a safe zone for conducting the programme. Besides, the MIM party also took it as a prestige issue to make the Rachchabanda programme a grand success in the Old city and deployed its rank and file apart from preparing the people to attend the programme. The MIM floor leader in the Assembly, Mr Akbaruddin Owaisi, personally supervised the arrangements at the venue of the programme.
