Hyderabad will be a Smart City soon: KTR

In the wake of the Centre announcing to fund smart cities across the nation, the Telangana State government is gearing up to transform Hyderabad into a smart city in the near future. The Government also plans to make the country’s 29th State to be made a smart city by taking suitable recommendations from the global companies that offer the most surpassing advices. To give a fillip at this direction, the State government was going ahead and a swift move is on the cards to compete with Dubai and Los Angeles in making smart the pearl city of Hyderabad, IT Minister KT Rama Rao has said.

Speaking at a workshop on Smart Solutions – Smart Societies” here attended by IT Secretary Jayesh Ranjan on Monday, KTR maintained that Telangana will be made into a smart State in the near future. “The State government will take smart decisions to make Hyderabad and the State smarter”, he remarked. He exuded confidence that the start up companies have been playing a key role in their own domains and will certainly come up with innovative and smarter solutions. The state government has taken a decision to conduct an international seminar on “Smart Development” in Hyderabad next month, KTR stated.

A team of officials will make a visit to the smart cities across the world and take some inputs from those places to come up with even better ideas, he stated. KTR also maintained that the State government will adopt a strategy to ensure that the plan is perfectly implemented to ensure that the city became a global destination with better connectivity, facilities and infrastructure. “Unless we encourage startup companies offering smart solutions, the purpose will not serve”, he remarked. The smart development seminar will focus on taking up smart solutions to transform Hyderabad into a smarter city and make the State a golden Telangana, he averred. (NSS)
