Hyderabad: Two nabbed for cheating 20 youths

Hyderabad: The sleuths of SOT, Malkajgiri Zone of Rachakonda Commissionerate have arrested two persons identified as Mohd Kifayath Ali and Shaik Moinuddin for cheating students posing as P.A. in the Telangana secretariat and collected over Rs 70 lakh from their parents to provide jobs in government sectors as Deputy MRO, attenders, transfers of government employees. The police seized Rs one lakh cash, three cars, one bike and two mobile phones from their possession.

Mohd. Kifayath Ali, 29, of Abul Hasanath Colony, Kamatipura, Bahadurpura and Shaik Moinuddin, 34, of Pochamma Maidan, Warangal were charged under Sections 420, 406 IPC by LB Nagar police station. Police said the accused cheated over 20 persons on the promise of providing jobs in government departments and collected over Rs 70 lakh from parents of the students.

The principal accused Mohd. Kifayath Ali printed visiting cards as Asst. P.A. to Chief Minister’s Advisor, Secretariat, and fixed nameplate as P.A. in the Government Peshi in front of his house and by fitting Red Light with siren to his vehicle and pasted sticker as Govt. Vehicle. He employed a private person on monthly salary basis from private securities and made him to wear Safari posing as gunman and made people believe him that he was working as P.A. in the CM Peshi and can easily provide jobs to the post of Deputy M.R.O., Attender in the government departments without writing any examination and also transfers of government employees.

Believing him since three years, people approached him seeking jobs in government departments and paid him some Rs 70 lakh. With the money, the accused purchased three cars and constructed a three-storeyed building at Mandi Bazaar, Warangal and leading a luxurious life.

Police said when the victims tried to meet him about the job, he used to call them to the Secretariat, CM’s camp office and made them wait outside for several hours. He used to go inside and later informed them that he has met the concerned official and they are going to issue the appointment orders at the earliest. When the people got suspicion, he shifted his house from Mandi Bazaar, Warangal to Kamatipura, Hyderabad and was not responding to their calls.

On a tip-off, the sleuths along with local police nabbed Mohd Kifayath Ali and Shaik Moinuddin. They were handed over to LB Nagar PS. (NSS)
