Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police arrested two house burglars who were targeting the homes of Rajasthani business persons living in the city. The two accused, identified as Kishore Chowdary (30) ad Arjun Singh (23), are also natives of Rajasthan itself.
After their arrest, the LB Nagar police recovered 186 grams of gold ornaments, 1.07 kilograms of silver ornaments, Rs. 1.43 lakh in cash, five wrist watches, one laptop, one Sony camera, an LG TV, a Jupiter bike and one Royal Enfield motorcycle. All of the seized items are worth Rs. 14.36 lakh. The two accused have been charged under different sections of the Indian Penal Code in six cases across different police stations including Chaitanyapuri PS, Vanasthalipuram PS, Meerpet PS, Adibatla PS and LB nagar PS.
The police claim that after questioning, the accused confessed to five burglaries and one attempt to steal cash from an ATM. According to the Rachakonda police, both old Kishore and Arjun were natives of Rajasthan and targeted Rajasthani business persons houses. Kishore once ran a hardware and glass fitting shops at Vanasthalipuram and Balapur from 2016-2019. He later went back to Rajasthan to start a hardware business there because of the losses he faced.
Due to the COVID-19 lockdown last year, his business closed down and in 2020 and came back to Hyderabad to work as a glass fitting contract worker. However he was was not satisfied with his earnings, which led to commit house burglaries. He met another worker (carpenter) from Rajasthan, Arjun, with whom he collaborated in robbing people’s houses.
