Hyderabad: Twin bomb blast verdict likely on August 27

Hyderabad: The bomb blasts which occurred at Gokul Chat and Lumbini Park 11 years back had killed 42 persons. The verdict of these blast cases is likely to be pronounced on 27th August.

It may be mentioned that twin bomb blasts had occurred on 25th August 2007 in which 42 persons were killed and 50 injured. The hearing of the court against the four accused persons was shifted from Nampally Criminal Court to Cherlapally Central Jail premises.

Sessions Judge Srinivas Rao completed the hearings and counter arguments on 7th August.

It may be noted that charges were leveled against A. Shafeeq Syed, Mohammed Sadiq, Akbar Ismail Chowdary and Ansar Ahmed Badsha Sheikh in August 2013. They are allegedly associated with Indian Mujahideen. Maharashtra ATS had arrested them in October 2008. Later, they were given in the custody of Gujarat Police.
