Hyderabad: TS Govt. mulls over constructing twin towers at OGH premises

Hyderabad: While preserving the heritage structure of Osmania General Hospital, Telangana government is mulling over constructing 10-storied twin towers in the premises of Osmania General Hospital with the cost of Rs. 800 cr. Health minister Laxma Reddy said soon after getting chief minister’s nod, Osmania Hospital’s look will be changed within one and a half years.

It must be recalled that, keeping in view its precarious condition, Telangana government had decided to dismantle the old and historic building of Osmania General Hospital and construct new corporate building. However following strong opposition by various political parties and social voluntary organisations, the government withdrew its decision to demolish the structure and instead decided to construct twin towers on the sprawling 13 lakh ft land at the premises.
