Hyderabad: In view of heavy road congestion during Ramadan in Old City, the Hyderabad Traffic Police (HTP) to provide free parking arrangements at several spots in Old City for revellers. The DCP od police, K Babu Rao said that free parking arrangements have already been made near Mecca Masjid, Yakutpura function hall and Fateh Darwaza, where people gather to offer prayers. “We are looking to make similar arrangements in Mehdipatnam as well,” Rao added.
A report by Times of India said that two large parking spaces will be availed at the demolished bus stand and the Pension office in Charminar to prevent traffic menace on roads, said top traffic cops. The traffic officials have also spoken with the footpath vendors during traffic management meeting asking them to cooperate with the traffic police, Rao said.
“Roadside fruit shops are a major concern during Ramzan. Temporary fruit markets come up in different areas along the roads, especially during iftar,” said Rao with no traffic to be allowed to use Charminar Pedestrian project site.
