Hyderabad: Three ghastly murdered in 24 hours

Hyderabad: Three ghastly murders on the roads in the capital city in 24 hours sent shockwaves to the citizens. Even before the Attapur “chase and kill” incident forgotten, similar dare-devil murders were continuing unabated in the city.

A man was hacked to death by unidentified persons at BD Reddy garden in BN Reddy Nagar under Meerpet police limits in the wee hours of Thursday. An extramarital affair is suspected to be behind the gruesome murder. The victim was identified as Srinivas Goud of Thimmarasipally village under Kalwakurthi mandal of Nagarkurnool district.

On receipt of information, the police rushed to the spot and recovered the body. Passersby told the police that the victim and assailant came in a car and the latter butchered the victim after a heated argument. Police said Srinivas was attacked with sharp weapons killing him on the spot.

Meanwhile, a senior citizen was found dead in the nearby FCI colony in Vanasthalipuram. Police said the old man might have died due to grievous injuries on his face. Police registered a case and took up investigation.

In the third incident occurred on Wednesday midnight under Mirchowk police limits, a 30-year-old auto driver Mohd Shakeer Qureshi of Chanchalguda was fatally stabbed by his friend Abdul Khaja, 30. Both the friends reportedly quarreled over an auto rickshaw given to a third person by Qureshi near ICICI bank at Nayapul on Wednesday evening. When Qureshi used foul language, Abdul Khaja got furious and inflicted 10 knife injuries on his neck, head and throat killing the victim on the spot. Even after butchering Qureshi, the assailant sat at the scene of offence silently. Khaja told the onlookers that he got furious and attacked him as the victim had abused his mother, sister and also threatened to rape them.

The police rushed to the spot and took the accused into custody and shifted the body to the mortuary of the nearby Osmania hospital.
