Hyderabad: Tension prevailed for some time at Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) office at Koti here on Monday when the VHP activists brought “Srirama Ratham” to take out Rathayatra and the police rejected permission for it.
A huge police force was deployed around the VHP and made the shop-owners around to down their shutters. As a result, a curfew like situation prevailed. VHP activists appealed to Director General of Police M Mahender Reddy to accord permission for their peace yatra. They also staged dharna alleging that it was not proper for the police to deny permission to their procession. The police took 12 VHP activists into custody besides rounding up several RSS activists.
