Hyderabad techie keeps wife under CCTV surveillance

Hyderabad: To keep a watch on his wife, who was not allowing him to marry her sister, a software engineer has installed CCTV cameras at his house. The victim, Purnajyothy, 27, is the wife of Shiv Shankar, a 34-year-old software engineer from AC Guards.

In November 2015, Purnajyothy had married Shankar. After the wedding, Shankar came to know about health problems of his wife and he began pestering Purnajyothy’s parents to let him take their other daughter as his second wife. However, Purnajyothy and her parents said no to the wicked plan of Shankar.

He then began harassing Purnajyothy for Rs 10 lakh additional dowry, took away her cell phone and also installed CCTV cameras at his house, even in their bedroom to keep his wife under surveillance.

Unable to put up with the harassment, the victim lodged a complaint with the Central Crime Station (CCS) police on Wednesday. Police registered a case against Shankar under sections 498-A, 406 and 506 of the IPC and sections 4 and 6 of the DP Act.
