Hyderabad, June 14: In a tragic incident, a software engineer from the city died in a road accident in the US yesterday. Bheemreddy Jayanth Reddy (30), crashed his bike into a divider in Virginia, reports reaching the family members said.
The youngster was the grandson of veteran Communist leader and threetime MP Bheemreddy Narasimha Reddy and son of the Hyderabad district public relations officer (DPRO).
Jayanth Reddy was living in the US for the past five years. His father, Prabhakar Reddy, is a retired manager in Andhra Bank while his mother, Aruna, is the Hyderabad DPRO and also vice-president of the Telangana Gazetted Officers Association.
Jayanth Reddy’s cousin B Mallikarjun Reddy said the accident took place when Jayanth was returning home on his two-wheeler after watching the football World Cup matches along with his friends near his house. “Jayanth crashed his bike into a road divider and died instantly. That was the information we got,’’ he said. News of Jayanth’s death came to the family around 7 a.m today. “The incident happened around 5 p.m (Saturday) there,’’ said Mallikarjun Reddy.
Jayanth’s family members had spoken to the deceased just yesterday night.
“Almost all our family members gathered for a family function yesterday.
Jayanth’s father received a call and we all spoke to him,’’ Mallikarjun said, adding that Jayanth told them that he was about to leave for home. Being a weekend, he might have gone to meet his friends and watch the football match with them, he said. Jayanth completed his BCA from AV College in the city. “His batch was the first one to write the BCA examination and he secured the 11th rank in the state,’’ B Pavan Kumar Reddy, another cousin, said.
After completing his studies, Jayanth joined a software company Computech here and went to the US on the the company’s project work. Jayanth recently switched to another software company. He lived in Virginia. Jayanth’s family was planning to perform his marriage in September and were searching for alliances.
The family are natives of Karivirala Kothagudem in Tungaturthi mandal of Nalgonda district.
