Hyderabad: A software engineer, working with an IT major, was booked on charges of harassing his woman colleague after she rejected his love and marriage proposals in Ghatkesar near here, police said on Friday.
Charan Choudhary had been allegedly harassing his 23-year-old colleague for the past six months asking her to marry him, Ghatkesar Police Station Inspector B Prakash told sources.
“On Wednesday night, Charan went to her house and again discussed with her their marriage which she out rightly refused after which he allegedly beat her up and pushed her to a wall before fleeing away,” the Inspector said based on a complaint lodged by the woman on Thursday.
Following the complaint, a case under IPC section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) was registered against Charan and efforts are on to nab him.
