Hyderabad: TDP leader booked for sexually assaulting minor, family missing

HYDERABAD: An FIR had been registered against the close assistant of a TDP minister who involves in allegedly sexually assaulting a minor girl. The victim and her family went missing since March 16 said the child rights activists at a press conference in Hyderabad.

According to Indian Express, Achyuta Rao the honorary president, Balala Hakkula Sangham said, “We have not been able to locate the girl nor her family since that day.”

An FIR had been registered by the police against, TDP party member, Pasupuleti Narasimha Rao, on a complaint claiming that he sexually assaulting the minor girl who was a domestic helper at his house.

The case had been registered under the sections of SC/ST Prevention of Atrocities (POA) Act, Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO Act) and section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code as she is from the minority community and minor.

Achyuta Rao said, “The cases registered against him are non bailable but the accused has not been arrested yet. The employment of a minor as a domestic help is itself a crime.”

Sexual assault was confirmed in a medical test of the victim and the child rights group had requested CM Chandrababu Naidu and the police to take the action against Narasimha Rao.

Achyuta Rao said, “We are ready to take the issue to the high court if needed. It is the State’s responsibility to protect and enable the rights of children.”
