Hyderabad: Farmer K. Suresh, accused of setting woman Tehsildar Vijaya Reddy on fire, died at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) here Thursday, while undergoing treatment for burns which he sustained along with the victim.
Suresh, who had suffered more than 60 percent burns, was declared dead by doctors at the Hospital. He was on a ventilator at the hospital’s plastic surgery ICU.
It may be recalled that Suresh went to tehsildar’s office at Abdullapurmet on November 4, poured petrol over her and set her on fire. He and the driver of the officer also were engulfed in the flames. After setting her on fire, Suresh rushed to the Police Station and surrendered to the police. He was then rushed to the Hospital for treatment.
Suresh reportedly killed Vijaya after he suspected her of siding with those with whom his family had a land dispute in Gourelli village of Rangareddy district.
