Hyderabad: A software employee couple, while returning from Chilkur Balaji temple on bike after having a darshan, was run over by a lorry at a traffic signal in Gachchibowli here this afternoon. While Ramya, 28, was killed on the spot, her husband Praveen Kumar, 28, suffered critical injuries and was admitted to a hospital.
As Saturday is a holiday for them, the couple went to Chilkur and returning home on bike. When the couple reached the Wipro Circle, the loaded truck rammed the bike killing the woman on the spot.
On the receipt of the information, the Gachchibowli police rushed to the spot and launched investigation. The couple reportedly tried to overtake the killer lorry from left side and came under the wheels of the lorry.
It may be mentioned here that recently a software employee couple, who were proceeding to Yadadri temple on a bike, fell down at Uppal and was run over by a car coming from behind. The woman was killed on the spot.
