A file on this issue has been resent to the Chief Minister on Tuesday. The reply will be soon sent to the High Court by the govenment. The goverment has been asked to decide on it within 6 weeks.
If Shia’s have more than 15 pecent Wakf property then the separate board has to be created. Presently 33,900 wakf properties are there in which 11,056 Ashoor khanas belongs to Shia’s
According to Wakf Board Officials there are only 148 Shia institutions which are listed in Wakf records and they do have any income from it. “All the Ashoor khanas are not in the control of Shia’s but some of them are in control of Sunni’s too. And many Darghas have Alams installed during Muharram and these Darghas comes under Sunnis,” says newly elected Wakf Board member Akbar Nizamuddin.
The Minorities department also gave a separate file to CM to take decision and nominate atleast four persons to the Telangana Wakf Board. The board remains incomplete even though six members has been elected. The Majlis claim to two nominated posts while the government want to give only one. Later TRS government decided to give two nominated seats to Majlis. But now again the government wants to give only one nominated seat to them.
The issue will be soon solved as the process of constitution of the board has to be completed within February 24.
