Hyderabad: Sexual harassment of women trainees in Gandhi Hospital, 4 held

Four laboratory technicians of Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad were arrested for sexually harassing women trainees deputed for lab training. The accused were identified as Mohammed Akram, 47, Thambi Anthony Sebastian, 53, Jannu Madhu Babu, 30, Lab. Technicians and Mandalam Durga Das, 36, Lab. Attendant.

According to DCP, North Zone, Secunderabad, all the four accused were working in Gandhi Hospital as Lab. Technicians. Some women, who were deputed to Gandhi Hospital for Lab training complained to the Hospital Superintendent in August alleging sexual harassment by the Lab. Technicians. The Superintendent caused an inquiry which brought home the guilt of the accused in September.

On Friday, the trainee victims lodged a complaint with the Chilkalguda police. Inspector K. Srinivasulu with the assistance of P. Janakamma, Inspector, Women Police Station, Begumpet examined 14 witnesses and found prima facie case against the accused employees of Gandhi Hospital, Secunderabad. All the four accused were arrested on Saturday and sent for judicial remand. (NSS)
