Hyderabad: Scholarship denied to student who is devoid of hands

Hyderabad: Minorities Finance Corporation denied scholarship to a youth who is devoid of hands as he cannot give fingerprints.

According to the details, Zakir Pasha (22), a resident of Asifabad is devoid of both his hands. He operates computer with the help of the fingers of his feet.

It may be mentioned that he had secured 65% marks in SSC and 75% marks in Intermediate. He gets a financial aid of Rs. 1500 per month under Aasra Pension Scheme. He wants to continue further education if scholarship is sanctioned to him. He contends that when Aadhaar Card could be prepared by scanning the retina of the eye, why can’t the Dept. of Minorities Welfare establish his identity by scanning the retina of his eyes.

It may be noted that Zakir Pasha belongs to a poor family. His father is an auto driver. He requests the government to consider his case for financial assistance.
