Hyderabad: Safety Clearance mandatory to ensure Metro rail inauguration by PM

Hyderabad: The completion of 30 km Hyderabad Metro rail stretch from Miyapur to SR Nagar is almost done but the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) is yet to issue safety certificate for the launch scheduled for 28 November.
Unless the safety clearance for the entire 30 km stretch is issued by the CMRS, the Metro Rail inauguration by PM will not be confirmed by the PMO said the Union Urban development ministry.
The officials in Hyderabad are making all efforts to ensure to obtain safety clearance so that the inauguration by PM Modi on 28 November goes as scheduled.
Five intelligence officials have arrived from New Delhi and are in the city for the past four days inspecting the tracks, pillars, metro stations and reporting it to PMO for further steps to be taken.
According to department officials, the safety clearance for 12km stretch, from Miyapur to SR Nagar has already been obtained from the CMRS and the officials are planning the inauguration of Miyapur Station by PM scheduled on 28 November as previously planned against the 30km stretch. The complete 30-km stretch shall be opened later after obtaining the certificate.
