Hyderabad: Four members of the Ramji gang from Tamil Nadu, who were earlier arrested for peddling ganja, were detained by the Rachakonda Commissioner of Police under the Preventive Detention Act on Wednesday.
The detained persons have been identified as Partivan Deepak (31), Thangaraj Sathyaraj (31), Yogaraj (23) and Suresh (36).The police said that the main accused Partivan Deepak (Deepu) was jailed in 2011 for a murder in Ramjinagar.
But after being behind bars for a month, he was released on bail. In 2014, he along with his friend Laxman stole a bag from a car in Delhi for which the Delhi police arrested him and sent him to Tihar jail.
He was later released on bail. Deepak then joined the Ramji gang where he met Thangaraj, Sathyaraj, Yogaraj, Suresh, Mukesh, Sharvanandu, Thamodharan, Vadivelu, Armugam, Kumar, Kumaran, Raju, Gokul and Aditya.
