Hyderabad: After many anti-CAA rallies, Hyderabad witnessed a pro-CAA meeting on Sunday. This meeting was organized by Akhand Bharat Sangharsh Samithi.
The meeting was held at Quli Qutb Shah Stadium between 6 pm and 9 pm.
Speakers target Owaisi
While addressing the gathering, speakers target President of AIMIM and Hyderabad MP, Asaduddin Owaisi and Chandrayangutta MLA, Akbaruddin Owaisi. They alleged that both the MP and MLA are misleading the people over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), 2019, National Register of Citizens (NRC) and National Population Register (NPR).
Mild tension also prevailed at the venue after a few persons tried to remove a banner of AIMIM near City College Junction. They also raised inciting slogans near the venue.
However, quick action by the police controlled the situation. Police also booked a case.
Anti-CAA
It may be mentioned that after Parliament passed the controversial law, protests are taking place across the country.
Protest rallies and meetings also held in Hyderabad wherein thousands of people participated to raise their voice against CAA, NRC and NPR.
