Hyderabad police violating SC guidelines to permit MIM meetings: MBT

The Majlis Bachau Tahreek on Wednesday alleged that the South Zone of Hyderabad City Police was openly violating the Supreme Court guidelines by allowing Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen to hold public meetings up to 2 AM (past midnight) using nearly 20 loud speakers.

MBT General Secretary Syed Mustafa Mehmood, in his letter to DGP Anurag Sharma, said that the MIM’s public meeting, being addressed by Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi and other leaders, were being conducted in violation of SC guidelines.  He said while police is booking criminal cases against the other political parties and non-political groups if they continue their public meeting beyond the stipulated time, they were simply ignoring the MIM’s meeting.

“The selective action of South Zone police officials is being used in suppressing political opponents, which needs your urgent attention. We request your kind authority to direct the South Zone police officials to implement law and Supreme Court guidelines of conducting public meeting only up to 10 PM equally for all organisations,” the MBT leader demanded. (INN)
