HYDERABAD: On Saturday, Jubilee Hills police conducted vehicle checking as a part of election related bandobast at Peddamma Temple, where two persons caught with 1.49 crore cash.
According to the report published in Times Of India, at Peddamma temple when police checking the vehicles, they intercepted two persons riding Honda Activa and found two bags from their possession.
Jubilee Hills inspector Balakrishna said, when they opened the bags, they found Rs 1.49 crore cash and the two persons identified as Gopinath (47) who is an accountant and his relative, Raghavendar (32), a software engineer, both from Adikmet were unable to provide any documents related to the cash.
On questioning, they said that they collected the cash from a real estate businessman, Ramesh near Peddamma temple and taking it to their homes at Adikmet.
The inspector said, “We will hand over the cash along with other relevant details to Income Tax officials for further investigation.”
