Hyderabad: The sleuths of Commissioner’s Task Force, South Zone Team, Hyderabad along with Kanchanbagh police on Thursday arrested the most wanted rowdy Shaik Obaid and his associate Abdul Lateef Khan. They were wanted in five cases of robbery, extortion and theft in three Commissionerates.
The police have recovered one auto-rickshaw, three two-wheelers, and four daggers. The total property recovered is worth Rs 5 lakh. at the instance of accused.
The 30-year-old Shaik Obaid was wanted in Kalapathar police station limits. He is an auto-rickshaw driver. Abdul Lateef Khan, aged 26 years, is also an auto driver residing in Rein Bazar.
On Thursday Shaik Obaid and his associate had planned to commit robbery in the commercial areas of Shah Ali Banda. While they were moving in suspicious conditions in Baba Nagar under Kanchanbagh police station limits, sleuths of South Zone Task Force nabbed them.On verification, it was found that, they were involved in five cases in Kanchanbagh, Hussaini Alam, Narsingi, and Meerpet.
Shaikh Obaid was evading 11 non-bailable warrants and Abdul Lateef Khan, three NBWs under various police station limits.
Hyderabad City Police Commissioner, Anjani Kumar addressing the media on Thursday said, “The accused Shaik Obaid is a habitual offender. Since he was 18 years of age he was involved in different crimes and offences.”
According to S. Chaitanya Kumar, Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police a Rowdy Sheet was opened against him at Kalapather PS in the year 2010. Lastly, he was involved in crime in the year 2018 and was arrested by Saidabad PS pertaining to the house breaking cases. PD Act invoked for two times in the year 2014 from Kalapather PS and in the year 2018 from Saidabad PS hence he was also associated with a notorious house burglary offender Mantri Shanker.
S. Raghavendra, Inspector of Police, South Zone told that Shaik Obaid was releases recently two months ago after completion of conviction period. Soon after his release from jail, he again started committing robberies and extortions along with his associate Abdul Lateef Khan at the point of dagger.
