Hyderabad, May 14:With the arrest of two persons, allegedly involved in printing fake currency notes, police today claimed to have busted a counterfeit currency racket here. Police also recovered fake currency notes of Rs 500 denomination with a face-value of Rs 82,000, from the duo.
Sleuths of the Commissioner’s Task Force(South Zone Team) apprehended Syed Azam and Mohammed Younus for printing fake currency notes and exchanging them in place of original notes, Task Force Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police M Sreenivas said.
Police initially nabbed Younus at Falaknuma Rythu Bazaarand based on his confession, conducted a raid at a house in Badangpet village of Saroor Nagar mandal and caught Azam.
Police also recovered a computer that was being used for printing fake notes.
The accused said that they started running this business due to financial constraints,” he said.
Both the accused have been handed over to Falaknuma police and further investigations were on.
