Hyderabad police arrests former SIMI secretary Muneer

Hyderabad, December 15:The Narayanguda Police has arrested Muneer Ahmed Deshmukh former National General Secretary of banned Students’ Islamic Movement of India (SIMI) in a forgery case. According to the sources Muneer allegedly obtained Driving License and LPG Gas connection from Hyderabad by submitting forged documents.

In July this year the Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorism Squad has arrested Muneer Ahmed for allegedly involving in subversive activities. During the interrogation conducted by the ATS officials, he revealed that he stayed in Hyderabad and Aurangabad. He reportedly confessed that he obtained Driving License and LPG Gas connection in Narayanguda area by submitting the forged documents.

The Madhya Pradesh police informed Hyderabad police about the same, a team of Narayanguda police armed with a Prisoners Transit warrant shifted Muneer from Bhopal jail.

“We have registered a case under sections 419 and 177 IPC and shifted him to Hyderabad on a PT warrant” Inspector Narayanguda G.Girish Rao said.

In October this year a local court in Bhopal sentenced Muneer to three years of jail term each in three different, as the MP Police had seized aggressive communal religious literature from the residence of Deshmukh in May 2001. Cases of trying to incite communal violence and causing serious threat to the integrity of the country were filed against Deshmukh.
