Hyderabad: In the wake of fire accident that gutted some 300 stalls in Numaish at Nampally on January 30, the Exhibition Society has decided to extend its date by 15 days. Thus, the exhibition will remain open till February 24 from existing 15.
Actually the date of the Numaish began on January 1 and will end on February 15 and owing to the fire mishap that caused heavy loss to the traders and businessmen of various States, the date was extended till February 24. The Exhibition Society president and former finance minister Etala Rajender has taken a decision to this effect followed by a directive from Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.
The fire mishap incurred criticism from people and political parties alike for lack of fire safety norms and intelligence failure. The Exhibition Society Secretary Ganga Reddy informed this to the media. The All India Industrial Exhibition is popular as Numaish and has been extended till February 24 from the previous date of February 15.
