Hyderabad: A 16-year-old girl was sexually assaulted by her friend who is also a neighbour of her. The boy confined her in the prayer room at his house for two days.
On Tuesday, the police arrested the boy, who is also a minor and booked a case against him under the relevant sections of the POCSO Act and SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.
The boy who is also a minor (17), an intermediate student was a friend of the victim who is a school dropout. Since the last three months, they have been talking to each other through their mobile phones.
On June 9, the girl’s parents lodged a complaint at the Miryalaguda I Town police station as she did not return till late in the night.
On Tuesday morning, the girl returned to her house and informed the parents about the sexual assault by the boy at his home for two days. The girl, who was bleeding, was taken to a hospital and her statement was recorded by the police, following which a case was registered – DC report.
The Miryalguda police said: “When the boy’s parents went out on work, the boy who hid the girl in the prayer room and sexually assaulted her. He would again hide her in the prayer room when his parents returned home. This happened for two days. The boy’s parents, both daily wagers did not enter the prayer room, which the juvenile took as an advantage.”
