Hyderabad: In an illegally run swimming pool in the Old City of Hyderabad, a minor student got drowned.
According to the details, Mohammed Salman Qureshi (14) who was a student of the 7th standard at Al Madina School, Hafiz Baba Nagar went to a swimming pool located at C-block of the locality. This swimming pool is in an auto garage. The management charges Rs. 10 per hour for swimming.
Salman Qureshi jumped into 7 feet deep swimming pool. He was making an attempt to swim, however, he got drowned. He was taken out of the swimming pool and rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
The victim’s father, Mohammed Anwar Qureshi lodged a complaint with the police against the management of the swimming pool alleging carelessness.
Mr. Nagesh, SI of Kanchan Bagh Police visited the spot and arrested Imtiyaz, owner of the swimming pool and Ilyas, supervisor. Police also closed down the swimming pool.
It is reported that this swimming pool had not obtained a license from GHMC. Police shifted the dead body of the boy to Osmania General Hospital.
During the preliminary investigation, police took the footage of CCTV Camera.
