Hyderabad Metro Rail gets massive response, one lakh passengers travel on Day 1

Hyderabad: On the first day of Metro Rail in Hyderabad, around 1 lakh passengers travelled. The enthusiastic citizens thronged the Metro stations since morning.

According to the news published in DC, nearly 4,000 people just travelled back and forth on the trains.
MD of Metro Rail, Mr. N.V.S. Reddy told that one lakh commuters travelled by Metro Rail on the first day after it was launched.

Giving the details of the progress of other phases of Metro Rail, he said that the work would be completed by June 2018.

Talking on the satisfaction expressed by the passengers, Mr. Reddy told that very soon, a single train would ply between Nagole and Miyapur Railway Stations. Metro passes will also be issued soon.

Mr. Reddy informed that on the first day from Miyanpur to Ameerpet the train took 8 minutes and from Ameerpet to Nagole, it took 15 minutes.

Reacting to the issue of fixing the rail fares, Mr. Reddy informed that under the Central Metro Act., Govt. of India is responsible for determining the rail fares.
