Hyderabad man slashes son’s wrist over mobile phone addiction

Hyderabad: In a horrific incident, a man chopped off his son’s wrist for getting mobile addicted. Mohammed Qayyum Qureshi, an electrician, was angry at his nineteen-year-old son, Khaled Qureshi, for excessively using his device.

The shocking act was registered on Monday in Pahadishareef police station, reported Deccan Chronicle. Khaled would watch movies late at night at a stretch, ‘making’ his father outraged up to a point, that he slashed his son’s right wrist with a butcher’s knife.

The teenager, who worked as a cable operator, had recently bought a smartphone. Mohammad had warned his son earlier, to stay away from the mobile phone and not to use it continuously due to the dangers of its excessive usage.

When he had a heated argument with Khaled two days ago, Khaled bit his father’s hand and ran away from the house. However, he came back at night and started watching movies again.
