Hyderabad: The first Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge sentenced a man to 10 years rigorous imprisonment for sexually violating a minor girl. The man is identified as Syed Amjad (32), an autorickshaw driver.
According to the report published in Telangana Today, the court has also imposed a fine of Rs. 2000.
During the hearing, Amjad has made a plea for lenient view while sentencing him as he has to take care of his two children and wife. However, his plea was rejected as the crime was heinous. The verdict was delivered by Judge Suneetha Kunchala.
The court also ordered compensation for the victim and referred the matter to the District Legal Services Authority to decide the compensation.
It may be mentioned that the crime was committed in 2015 and the complaint was lodged by the girl’s mother on 2nd December 2015 after victim narrated her ordeal.
